<-- This is the last piece for the walnut series which is still in progress. My teacher encouraged me to continue rendering what should look like a surface under the walnut in the top right. She also wants me to add more texture to the walnut itself by adding more lines and not worrying too much about blending.

I am in love with your figure drawing piece. You really show your understading of perspective and form through your unique mark making. I'm really proud of your amazing growth. Keep it up!

ReplyDeleteThis figure piece is very strong. The way the white charcoal cascades down the black paper under the figure is so dramatic! Also your walnut pieces show a strong use of line and a variety of line. I still want to push you on the black and white walnut piece. I know you feel you are done, but I'm still left feeling confused about the area underneath the largest walnut. It still reads as flat, while the smaller elements to the left create a weightless feeling.
Overall your work has been very strong this year. Keep your focus and show me better homework!
